SUMMER- FALL 2025

Artmaking, Printmaking, Friendmaking.

Dear Friends (a note from the director),
What a whirlwind summer from push broom-sized brush strokes filling a parking lot to screen printed drawings of wildlife. Now that fall is upon us, most of our interns have gone back to school and I miss them dearly. As things have settled down a little bit I seem to have taken up birdwatching. An unexpected hobby that has me focusing in on the details and unexpected beauty all around us. I also see people being sweet with each other and I feel excited about contributing creatively to a positive future.

Please take a look below at some up next highlights as well as a recap of the past summer. Thank you to our community of supporters, creatives, students, and partnering organizations for making this all possible.
Sincerely with love,
Reina (Project Shop, Director)
P.S. link to a birdwatching documentary that made me very happy

Fall•Winter 2025

In September, we welcomed 8 teenagers to visit the shop. We discussed the history of printmaking and facilitated a hands-on experience setting traditional letterpress movable type and printing a collaborative postcard. Thanks to Sabrina Piersol who is leading the program through the Aspen Art Museum, we will see this group again over the next months. ¡Printmaking is thriving!

ACES prints for

Evening at the Lake

Aspen Center for Environmental Studies honored writer and renowned botanist Robin Wall Kimmerer during their fundraising evening at Hallam Lake. Our shop-artists and interns explored the involved process of translating an idea to print. Starting with discussion, sketches, final drawings, we then digitized and outputed film to create repeating screenprinted and highlighted images of wildlife on a dozen huge banners.

TACAW

We helped out The Arts Campus at Willits make their fundraising evening a smashing success with the installation of dozens of shiny silver balls. These cooperative and collaborative work study opportunities for students provide real-world work experience while also affording students the chance to reflect and consider their role and capacity to help out their creative community.
